An incident involving multiple school buses occurred in a Chicago suburb on Tuesday morning, injuring almost a dozen youngsters, according to authorities.
According to Illinois State Police, a multi-unit crash involving at least three school buses occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. The crash occurred on northbound Interstate 55 at milepost 246 in Grundy County.

At the scene, authorities reported minor injuries, and they transferred 11 students to nearby hospitals.
While Silver Cross Hospital reported that they transported four patients to their emergency room, Morris Hospital acknowledged that they transferred two students to their facility, none of whom were in a serious condition.
State police, noting that the relocation site was the Loves Truck Stop on the east side of Interstate 55, dispatched additional school buses to the area “to aid in relocation.”
Police announced that they had transported all students off the Interstate just before 10:30 a.m.
Shortly after 11 a.m., Braidwood police reported that they had safely escorted children back to Reed Custer Middle School following the state police inquiry.
“There will be a large police presence at the middle school to assist with reunification,” police stated.
Authorities reported that they had temporarily closed the right lane of I-55.
