Sarah Matthews, a former staffer of former President Trump, announced on Monday that she would not be voting for her former boss in November. In a surprising turn of events, she hinted that she might cast her vote for President Biden instead.
During an appearance on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki,” Matthews expressed his belief that when there is a candidate on the ballot who does not uphold the Constitution, it becomes necessary to prioritize the preservation of the Constitution over policy considerations.

In contrast to some other former advisers to Trump, former Attorney General Bill Barr, who has become a frequent critic of the former president since leaving office, recently stated that he will vote for the “Republican ticket” in November.
According to Barr, he believes it is his responsibility to choose the individual who would cause the least damage to the country. During an interview on Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom,” he stated, “In my opinion, that would be voting for the Republican candidate.”
In private conversations, Matthews has engaged with numerous Republicans, including prominent elected officials, who criticize Trump. However, she noted that many of them refrain from expressing their opinions publicly.
Matthews expressed his frustration with those who support Trump solely based on his policies, stating that they treat the election as if it were a typical one between a Republican and Democratic candidate. He emphasizes that this is far from the truth.
After deciding to endorse the GOP ticket regardless of the candidate, Trump took to social media to ridicule Barr.
“Wow! I was amazed when I learned that Former A.G. Bill Barr, who unfortunately didn’t investigate Voter Fraud in our Country, has just endorsed me for President. This endorsement comes despite the fact that I once called him ‘Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy’ (New York Post!). I must say that I truly appreciate his wholehearted endorsement, and as a result, I have decided to remove the word ‘Lethargic’ from my previous statement. Thank you so much, Bill.”
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) endorsed Trump last month, despite having clashed with the former president in the past. McConnell showed his support for Trump after former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley suspended her campaign, leaving Trump as the last remaining rival.
In a statement at the time, the senator made it abundantly clear that former President Trump has garnered the necessary support from Republican voters to become our nominee for President of the United States. The senator further expressed that it should not be surprising that as the nominee, Trump will have their support.
