In the latest national poll conducted by NBC News, former President Donald Trump is shown to be leading President Joe Biden by a narrow margin of two percentage points. However, as the 2024 race for the White House intensifies, Biden seems to be closing the gap between them.
According to the survey released on Sunday, there has been a shift in the numbers. Biden’s support has increased from 42% in January to 44% currently, while Trump’s support has decreased from 47% to 46%.
A recent poll of 1,000 registered voters, conducted via cellphone from April 12-16, has revealed some interesting findings. With a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points, it becomes challenging to definitively determine who is leading. It is worth noting that the margin of error is larger than Trump’s apparent advantage. Nevertheless, the results of the poll suggest a notable shift in recent months, as indicated by the change between the two NBC News polls.
According to the latest poll from the outlet, Trump held an advantage among men, white voters, and white voters without college degrees. On the other hand, Biden had an advantage among Black voters, Latino voters, and women. Interestingly, they were evenly matched among independents and young voters.
In a recent poll conducted by USA TODAY/Suffolk University, it was revealed that Trump maintains a narrow lead over Biden, with 40% of the respondents supporting Trump and 38% supporting Biden.
According to NBC News’ poll, as we approach the 2024 presidential election, voters are primarily concerned about inflation, the cost of living, and immigration.
When given the option to choose from multiple candidates, the outcome of the head-to-head results changed. In this scenario, voters were presented with additional choices such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West, and Jill Stein. Under these circumstances, 39% of voters opted for Biden, while 37% chose Trump. It is worth noting that this outcome falls within the poll’s margin of error.
A higher number of Trump voters than Biden voters opted for Kennedy when presented with third-party alternatives.
According to NBC News, Joe Biden’s approval rating increased from 37% in January to 42% in April. However, despite this uptick, a majority of voters still express disapproval of his performance as president.
Voters overwhelmingly favored Biden’s position on abortion over Trump’s and believed that he was more successful in bringing the country together. On the other hand, Trump gained an advantage with his approach to addressing inflation and the cost of living. Many voters also perceived him as competent and capable, and questioned whether Biden had the necessary mental and physical health to serve as president.
According to NBC’s polling, it appears that voters are showing less enthusiasm for this election compared to previous races. Only 64% of respondents expressed being “very interested” in the election, which GOP pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies described as remarkably low.
According to him, the level of interest in the election often serves as a predictor of voter turnout.
Donald Trump is leading in a new 2024 poll, but Joe Biden seems to be narrowing the margin, according to recent reports.
