The Stanley Cup Final witnessed Leon Draisaitl’s first significant contribution, and as a result, the series is on its way back to South Florida.
On Friday night, the Edmonton Oilers were able to force a Game 7 against the Florida Panthers by clinching a 5-1 victory. The game started off with a goal from Warren Foegele, thanks to an assist from Draisaitl. In the second period, Adam Henrique and Zach Hyman were able to score, further securing the Oilers’ lead.
In 1945, the Detroit Red Wings were the last team to fall behind 3-0 in the final series and manage to tie the game. The Edmonton Oilers now have the opportunity to join the Toronto Maple Leafs of 1942 as the only NHL teams to come back from such a deficit and win the Stanley Cup. The game takes place on Monday night in Sunrise.
