Yellowstone, Paramount’s contemporary western, is returning to Montana for filming.
The show, which Taylor Sheridan created, will debut in November with the second half of its fifth season.
The cast list has not been revealed, leading fans to wonder if actor Kevin Costner, who earlier stated that he would not be returning due to schedule issues, has changed his mind about continuing with the popular project till the end.
Yellowstone’s previous seasons starred Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Wes Bentley, and Luke Grimes.
“Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, who own the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States.” Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, raw wounds, and hard-earned respect, the ranch is always at odds with those it borders, including a burgeoning town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park, according to the show’s synopsis.
The midseason finale aired in January 2023. Costner’s schedule and the months-long writers and actors’ strike postponed the shooting.
The successful series 1883 and 1923 are prequels that chronicle previous generations of the Dutton family.
Horizon: An American Saga, a film in which Costner stars and directs, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in France this weekend. Two sequels will follow it.
