Tears streamed down Lizette Zambrano’s face as she expressed her heartbreak. “This could have been prevented,” she said, her voice choked with emotion. “It’s unbelievable. We lost a truly good man.”

According to Zambrano, the resort is responsible for her husband’s death as she believes that the water was electrified due to faulty wiring. As a result, she has filed a lawsuit against the resort for wrongful death.

During her interview on “Good Morning America” on Friday morning, Zambrano expressed her desire for someone to take responsibility for what happened to her and her husband. She recounted the last words she heard from her husband before the incident, which were “Oh s—.” She then described feeling the first electric shock and experiencing it repeatedly, all while not hearing from her husband again.

According to the lawsuit, the efforts of bystanders to save the couple were hindered as the metal objects they carried conducted the electrical current, causing them to experience electric shocks.

Zambrano recounted that many individuals attempted to help but eventually backed out due to the intense shocks.

According to Lizette Zambrano, she was retrieved from the hot tub without any vital signs. However, she received CPR and was transported to a medical facility where she regained consciousness after some time.

In her lawsuit, she is seeking damages worth $1 million from Casago, the vacation rental facilitator. She claims that Jorge was electrocuted and drowned for 10 minutes while in the jacuzzi, and the defendants failed to engage the emergency shut off at any point before this incident.

According to a recent statement, Casago has distanced itself from any responsibility regarding the Sonoran Sea condo resort. They have stated that the homeowners association is responsible for maintaining all common areas, which includes the upkeep of the swimming pool, hot tubs, and grounds. Casago, a vacation rental company, has no involvement in the management or maintenance of the resort, as per their statement.

Zambrano’s lawyer raised a crucial concern about the efficacy of policies and procedures. “What is the purpose of having policies and procedures in place if they are not being implemented?” he asked.

We reached out to the homeowner’s association for comment, but as of now, we have not received a response from them.

If you ever feel like you’re experiencing an electric shock while in the water, it’s important to act quickly. According to experts, the best course of action is to move away from the source of the shock and try to exit the water as soon as possible. However, it’s important to avoid touching metal railings or ladders, as this can increase the intensity of the shock. Remember, while electric shocks are rare, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
