It was a deadly night in the Big Apple, with one person murdered and six others injured in three shootings within 45 minutes, according to authorities.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, authorities reported that a baby shower at 108-11 Atlantic Ave. in Richmond Hill, Queens, resulted in the shooting of four males, one of whom died.
Police report that a 24-year-old man sustained fatal injuries in his chest, another man, 45, sustained a single gunshot wound to his left leg, and a third victim, 26, sustained a strike to his right arm.
The 24-year-old was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, while the other two victims were in stable condition at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens.
Investigators report that a 43-year-old man, the fourth victim, arrived at Jamaica Hospital in stable condition following shots to his right arm and left leg.
The NYPD reports that there have been no arrests and that the investigation is still ongoing.
Around 1:40 a.m., police shot a 25-year-old male in the head outside 199-23 Linden Blvd., near 200th Street, in Jamaica.
The person is still in serious condition at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
There have been no arrests.
According to police, the early Saturday bloodbath in Brooklyn started just after 1 a.m. when they shot a 47-year-old man in the stomach and struck a 34-year-old man in the right elbow at 15 Albany Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Authorities are seeking two men who rushed away on bikes toward Fulton Street.
There have been no arrests.
“It’s unknown what led to this, what the motive was, or if these two men were the intended targets,” a spokesman for the NYPD said.
