The incident occurred on Saturday, April 27, around 10:15 p.m. in the town of Willington, located in Tolland County.
According to Connecticut State Police, a Subaru Legacy from 2007 carrying five individuals from Bethel, Fairfield County, was heading southbound on River Road when the driver lost control, resulting in the vehicle flipping over.
Maria Damata, a 19-year-old passenger, suffered severe injuries and tragically lost her life, as stated by the authorities.
The driver, who is a 21-year-old man, along with three passengers, including a 20-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, and a 20-year-old woman, were taken to Hartford Hospital. It is suspected that they sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Authorities are currently investigating the crash.
