A fashion designer from Brooklyn was discovered dead inside her house this week with a scarf around her neck, according to law enforcement officials.
Svitlana Indelicato, 50, a designer of purses, scarves, and Pashmina shawls, was unconscious and unresponsive when her husband claimed to find her inside a room in the Bensonhurst home on 80th Street near 16th Avenue and phoned the police at 5 a.m. Thursday, according to sources.
Accounts state that someone wrapped a scarf around her neck.
Police reported that EMS personnel responded and pronounced Indelicato dead on the scene.
The NYPD called her injuries “trauma” to the neck.
There have been no arrests, and the city’s medical examiner will formally determine how she died.
Indelicato sold bags and scarves through her Etsy business, VitalTemptation and ScarfObsession.
“I work with wool, silk, and other natural fibers using very unique and almost forgotten techniques while creating my designs,” Indelicato wrote on LinkedIn.
“I use felting, which is an ancient textile art where manipulating wool, warm soapy water, and rolling, squeezing, and rubbing creates a very special, one-of-a-kind piece.”
