Gunfire struck a city bus in Harlem on Wednesday night, leading to injuries for two individuals.
Around 11:45 p.m., gunshots were heard in the vicinity of Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and West 116th Street.
The victim, a young man of 22, sustained a gunshot wound to his left thigh and was promptly transported to Mount Sinai Morningside hospital. Fortunately, he is in a stable condition.
A young man, aged 18, sustained a gunshot wound on his leg and was transported to Harlem Hospital in a private vehicle. Fortunately, he is now in stable condition.
As the bullets flew, one of them found its way to an M16 bus that was heading eastbound on West 116th Street. The window of the bus shattered as a result, but thankfully neither the driver nor the twelve passengers on board sustained any injuries.
As of now, the shooter has escaped on foot and the authorities have yet to make any arrests. The reasoning behind the shooting is still unknown.
