The United States Geological Survey reported that an earthquake struck early Saturday morning.
The 3.4-magnitude quake occurred in Jefferson County and was centered near Lake Ontario. According to the USGS map, it might be felt in sections of Canada as well as Central and Northern New York.
There were no casualties or damage recorded.
Months ago, on April 5, an earthquake in Gladstone, New Jersey, jolted the East Coast, including New York City. It attained 4.8 magnitude. The tremors persisted for almost 15 seconds.
