On Tuesday night, the Indiana Fever faced off against the Aces in Las Vegas, and once again, Caitlin Clark, the rookie player, proved her worth by leaving her mark on the WNBA history books.

In the final quarter, Clark achieved her third game of the season with 10+ points and 10+ assists by passing the ball to Aliyah Boston, who made a two-point hook shot. This accomplishment matched the record for most points and assists double-doubles in a rookie season in the history of the WNBA. The record was previously held by Sue Bird, a former star of the Seattle Storm.

Clark is a standout performer for the relatively inexperienced Fever squad. She consistently makes headlines with her remarkable performances in every game. In the team’s recent match against the Phoenix Mercury, the talented rookie from Iowa Hawkeyes was just one rebound shy of achieving a rare feat in the WNBA – becoming the first rookie to record a triple-double.

During her rookie season in 2002, Bird recorded an impressive feat of three games with 10+ points and 10+ assists. Her talent and dedication would later lead her to become a four-time WNBA champion and a 13-time WNBA All-Star.

Prior to the Fever-Aces match, Clark was selected for the 2024 WNBA All-Star game, making her one of only two rookies to earn a spot on the roster, alongside Angel Reese.

In the end, the Fever suffered an 88-69 loss to the Aces. It’s worth noting that Kate Martin has now improved her record to 2-0 against her former Iowa teammate, Clark.
