According to Falls Township police, Karen Stevens-Nunez was apprehended in Trenton on the morning of July 1st.
According to a criminal complaint, a wellness check was requested at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 29th. Upon arrival, the officer discovered Stevens-Nunez in the parking lot of Fairless Hills Self Storage located at 495 South Oxford Valley Road.
According to the police report, the officer noticed the woman sitting outside of her car with the driver’s side door open and pulled up behind her.
According to the complaint, the officer was faced with a dangerous situation when Stevens-Nunez allegedly brandished a black handgun and pointed it at him. In response, the officer quickly pulled his vehicle around and ordered her to drop the weapon through the loudspeaker. After a brief moment, Stevens-Nunez returned to her car and quickly fled the scene.
According to the police, a short pursuit occurred along South Oxford Valley Road, which then proceeded onto Trenton Road. Witnesses reported that during the chase, the suspect was shouting from the car window while holding a firearm inside a cardboard box.
According to authorities, Stevens-Nunez was able to evade the officer by driving at speeds of up to 89 mph on South Olds Boulevard, eventually disappearing from sight.
Authorities have reported that the suspect has been arrested in Trenton on charges of aggravated assault and fleeing or attempting to elude.
