Authorities said on Thursday that one of the brawlers stepped behind the wheel and attempted to run down a good Samaritan who was trying to break up a dispute between two women on an Upper East Side street.
Around 5:20 p.m., the man saw two ladies beating up a woman on Second Avenue near E. 91st St. According to the police, the date is April 2. He ran over and attempted to break up the fight by dragging the two combatants away from the woman.
Outraged, one of the attackers rushed over to her white Kia, which was idling nearby, and hit the gas. The hood of the Kia smashed into the good Samaritan’s knees, knocking him down.
The woman who was with the Kia driver stepped into the passenger seat, and the two sped away, according to cops. They haven’t been caught.
According to a police source, the woman they were attacking fled the scene without reporting the incident.
The police claimed the good Samaritan sustained damage to both of his legs. Medical personnel took him to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell for treatment before releasing him.
Cops discovered that the woman driving the Kia had entered Knickerbocker Plaza, a nearby luxury apartment building, and spoken with security at the front desk before the altercation outside.
On Thursday, cops published surveillance photographs of the suspect smiling as she spoke with security in the hopes that someone would recognize her.
According to the description, the suspect is in her twenties and has a slim physique. She had long braids and wore a gray hoodie, black leggings, a black shirt, and black sneakers.
