A 26-year-old man died Friday after falling from an upscale Manhattan co-op in an apparent suicide, according to authorities.
Around 7:40 p.m., the young man was found in the rear courtyard of the Imperial House on East 69th Street, off Lexington Avenue, in Lenox Hill.
He had “injuries indicative of falling from an elevated position,” according to the NYPD.
On the scene, they declared the person dead.
The police declared that they suspected no wrongdoing.
The floor of the 30-story skyscraper from which the man fell was not immediately known.
Realtors characterize the Imperial House as “among the finest, most desirable white glove co-operatives combining elegance and service.”.
According to postings, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom co-op costs $1,900,000, while adding a bed and bath brings the price to a startling $3,495,000.
From 1968 until her death in 1977, the late actress Joan Crawford lived at the Imperial House, which was then an apartment complex.
