In March, Emouree Johnson went through a heartbreaking experience that no child should ever have to endure. Her mother, Karli Bordner, tragically passed away at the young age of 29. This devastating loss has left the 7-year-old girl and her family in deep grief. On top of the emotional pain, they are also burdened with the financial stress of arranging a funeral. Understanding the gravity of the situation, young Emouree came up with a thoughtful plan to provide assistance.
Just like many other kids her age, Emouree had a desire to set up her own lemonade stand. But her motivation was different. She wanted to contribute towards the cost of her mom’s headstone. To ensure the success of her fundraiser, she asked her grandma, Jennifer Bordner, to share a photo of her on Facebook. Little did they know that this simple act would inspire their community to come forward and offer their support in ways they never expected.

Pretty soon, a lot of generous people started pouring in to buy Emouree’s $1 lemonade. Neighbors, firefighters, nurses, and deputies were among those who showed up in droves. Even though the lemonade was inexpensive, the 7-year-old received some generous tips, including $100 bills.
Emouree is amazed by the unexpected turnout of people at her house, all because of a simple act of making lemonade. She finds it both enjoyable and unbelievable at the same time.
Emouree’s lemonade stand and the GoFundMe campaign set up by the family have collectively raised an abundance of funds for Karli’s headstone. Remarkably, monument companies have even come forward to offer their generous donations to honor the cherished Mom. Furthermore, any surplus funds will be allocated to a dedicated account for the 7-year-old, ensuring that she receives assistance for any future expenses she may encounter.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Jennifer expresses her gratitude, saying, “Thank you. I am immensely grateful to all of you and to God for this incredible gift for Emouree. I have never experienced something so amazing. It has been an extraordinary blessing, and I can’t find the words to express my appreciation enough.”
