The teachers at Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle have a longstanding tradition that has recently gained global attention. Their homecoming celebration, featuring some impressive dance moves, has captured the hearts of millions. Although this tradition has been a part of their school for years, it wasn’t until 2022 that they decided to share it with the world. And we’re certainly grateful that they did!
During the homecoming pep rally, the cheerleaders showcase a unique dance routine that sets it apart. What adds to its specialness is the pairing of each cheerleader with a teacher. Together, they take turns performing their own routines, resulting in a truly remarkable display of talent and collaboration.
Every year, the students select the song “Supersonic” by J.J. Fad for their routine, and it never fails to ignite an enthusiastic response from the entire student body! Even though the school community cherishes this tradition, they were pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming online attention it received.

J.J. Fad actually enjoyed their video so much that they even shared it on their own social media pages!
Julie Gallaudet, the school’s director of marketing, explains that she had anticipated a positive and nostalgic response to the school spirit video. She states, “I thought it might get a fun reaction and bring lots of smiles because it’s school spirit and almost nostalgic to anyone watching.” However, she was pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming support and positivity expressed in the tens of thousands of comments received.
