On Tuesday, a Los Angeles Metro Rail train collided with a University of Southern California bus, injuring at least 55 passengers and leaving two in critical condition, according to officials.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the incident occurred at Watt Way and Exposition Boulevard in the Exposition Park neighborhood at midday.

Metro officials stated that the incident occurred when a USC shuttle bus strayed into the path of a southbound Metro E Line train.
As a result of the incident, firefighters and paramedics evaluated and treated at least 55 people, according to an update from the LAFD on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials reported that they evacuated two people in serious condition to a local hospital, transported 16 people in fair condition, and treated and released at least 37 people on the scene.
According to the LAFD, two were on the USC bus and 14 were on the train when the incident occurred.
Officials reported that the crash did not send any children to hospitals.
“Metro expresses sympathy to those injured in this accident,” the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority stated in a statement Tuesday.
