A North Carolina man won an $837,187 lottery jackpot after his sister had a dream about him finding wealth.
“In her dream, I found a bunch of gold,” Kannapolis resident David Atwell told the North Carolina Education Lottery. “I guess dreams do come true.”

Atwell purchased the winning $1 Cash 5 ticket from Jiffy Quick in Kannapolis.
“I was stunned,” he explained. “At first, I noticed the jackpot had dropped back to $100,000, indicating that someone had hit it. I didn’t realize it was me.”
“He was hollering so much it scared the cat,” his wife, Cherie, explained.
After taxes, he received $598,591. He stated that he plans to donate some of the money to his church and pay debts.
