A tragic incident occurred when a powerful gust of wind swept away a bounce house, causing the death of a 2-year-old boy and injuring another child who were playing inside, as reported by the police.
According to a statement from the police, the Pinal County Sheriff officials were alerted to an incident at a residence on W. Rosemead Drive and N. Bel Air Road outside of Casa Grande, Arizona. The authorities received the call around 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Several children were playing in a bounce house when a sudden gust of wind lifted it off the ground and sent it flying into the adjacent lot, according to the statement from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. Tragically, a two-year-old child was taken to the hospital but did not survive. Another child suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
Tragically, the young boy, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was taken to a nearby hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the other child involved in the incident sustained injuries that, fortunately, were not life-threatening.
Police expressed their condolences and offered their thoughts and prayers to the grieving family.
According to the police, they believe the incident to be a “tragic accident.” However, they are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
