For a whole year, it was widely believed that Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential campaign, driven by personal ambition, would only serve as a disruptive force, potentially aiding former President Donald Trump in his bid against President Joe Biden in the November elections.
Recent polling has shifted the perspective, indicating that Kennedy poses a significant threat to Trump, if not more so than to Biden.
Kennedy believes that Biden is the true disruptor in the race, and he expressed this perspective on Wednesday. In Kennedy’s opinion, Biden should step aside to allow Kennedy to directly compete against Trump.
Hey RFK Jr., let’s talk about your perspective on Earth for a moment. I have to say, there are a few issues with your view that need to be addressed.
RFK Jr.’s delusion is matched only by his audacity
Biden possesses a significantly larger campaign fund compared to Kennedy (or Trump). As the incumbent president who triumphed over Trump in the 2020 electoral college, he holds a substantial advantage. Furthermore, despite trailing or being on par with Trump, Biden is garnering significantly stronger support in the polls than Kennedy.
Can you believe the audacity of Kennedy? Despite considering all these factors, he still suggests that an incumbent president should step aside.
In a speech delivered in Brooklyn, Kennedy put forth a far-fetched proposal for Biden, which he dubbed a no-spoiler pledge. However, it is worth noting that Kennedy did not entertain any questions from the stage during his address.
According to his proposal, here’s how it would work: Biden and Kennedy would jointly finance a comprehensive nationwide poll in mid-October, surveying a minimum of 30,000 likely voters. This poll would gauge the performance of each candidate in head-to-head matchups against Trump, with Biden facing off against Trump and Kennedy doing the same. The candidate who demonstrates stronger performance against Trump would continue their campaign, while the other candidate would withdraw.
Did Biden say he wouldn’t run in 2024?
According to Kennedy, he has a strong case for his candidacy. He referred to a recent 50-state poll conducted by John Zogby Strategies, which surveyed 26,408 likely voters. The poll results showed that in a potential rematch with Trump, Biden would lose, and Kennedy would surpass both of them in head-to-head races.
According to RealClearPolitics, an average of polls conducted from January to April shows that Trump is leading Biden in a three-way race by 41.7% to 36.3%. Kennedy, on the other hand, trails far behind with 10.7%.
Kennedy believes that his new poll is superior. It is a common sentiment among politicians to feel that way about polls that align with their views.
During the 2020 election, Kennedy and his campaign manager, Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, made repeated references to a pledge they alleged Biden had made to serve only one term as president.
In 2019, there were discussions suggesting that Biden might be open to the idea. However, Biden publicly dismissed the notion on multiple occasions well before the start of the 2020 voting.

There is no way to hold someone accountable for a promise they never actually made.
Biden mentioned to his supporters in December that if Trump wasn’t running, he may not have considered running himself. However, since Trump is confirmed as the Republican nominee, Biden is fully committed to the race.
Kennedy thinks abortion isn’t an issue voters care about
Both Biden and Trump view Kennedy as a spoiler.
Biden and Trump are united in their dislike of Kennedy. The polls show why: He’s a spoiler.
Biden and the Democratic National Committee have been attempting to marginalize him for several months. The DNC highlighted the fact that one of Trump’s major contributors, conservative billionaire Timothy Mellon, donated $20 million to a super PAC supporting Kennedy.
Trump used to have a positive relationship with Kennedy, even going so far as to call him a “commonsense guy” last year. However, that sentiment has changed. Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, on Friday to accuse Kennedy of being a Democratic Party “plant” on the ballot, with the intention of aiding Biden’s victory in the upcoming November election.
According to a recent national NBC poll, there has been a shift in the numbers. In a head-to-head race, Trump is now leading Biden by 2 percentage points. However, when other candidates such as Kennedy, Jill Stein of the Green Party, and independent Cornel West are included on the ballot, Biden comes out ahead by 2 points. This demonstrates a change in the dynamics of the race.
RFK Jr.’s VP: Kennedy’s choice for vice president reveals the true nature of his presidential campaign – a self-centered endeavor solely focused on himself.
According to a recent poll by Florida Atlantic University, it was suggested that Biden’s candidacy is advantageous due to Kennedy also being on the ballot. This is because Kennedy, a former Democrat, is taking away support from Trump.
In his Wednesday pitch, Kennedy underscored his candidacy as the sole viable option to counter another four years of Trump’s presidency in the White House.
Running for president requires a certain level of ego, but it also requires a firm grasp on reality. Based on the available information, it is evident that Kennedy’s entry into the race will have an impact on the outcome in November. However, it remains uncertain whether this will ultimately benefit or harm Biden or Trump.
