On Wednesday, May 1st, the NYPD took down tents within a building at Fordham University while clearing out a camp of Gaza protesters.
Demonstrators were escorted away from the Lincoln Center campus by the police.
According to NYPD Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry, those who did not comply with the order to leave the illegal encampment were arrested.
According to the spokesperson, Fordham University reached out to the NYPD for assistance.
Demonstrations were held at multiple universities across the US, including UCLA, where more than 130 demonstrators were arrested by the police early Thursday.
Protests in support of Palestine have also spread to the UK, with the establishment of pro-Palestine encampments.
