A person has died after falling from Ohio Stadium during Ohio State University’s graduation ceremony on Sunday.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, an officer called for help on the OSU police radio around 12:30 p.m., saying, “I need medics, and some officers at gate 30 (of Ohio Stadium) had one fall off the stadium.”

Dispatcher Doral Chenoweth, who was on-site, reported that yellow tape and concerned officials surrounded the fall’s location.
“A person fell from the stands.”They have died,” the university announced in a statement to USA TODAY. “For anyone affected by today’s incident, we will make counseling and other support resources available.”
People in the grandstand and some students at commencement were obviously agitated, according to Dispatch reporter Jordan Laird, who was inside throughout the incident.
The commencement speakers have not mentioned the incident.
