Former President Donald Trump received criticism on social media on Sunday for allegedly drawing a comparison between President Joe Biden’s administration and the Gestapo, the covert police force of Nazi Germany.
During a private event for Republican National Committee (RNC) donors in Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday, former President Donald Trump, the expected Republican 2024 presidential nominee, expressed his views on various matters.

Social media users criticized the former president on Sunday morning.
Nicholas Brown, a journalist, expressed his disapproval on X, stating, “That joke lacks humor. In my opinion, he should feel ashamed of himself.”
In an email response to Newsweek on Sunday afternoon, James Singer, the spokesperson for Biden-Harris 2024, emphasized that Donald Trump’s recent private gathering further highlights the self-centered nature of his campaign. Singer expressed his dismay at Trump’s continuous spread of falsehoods, vindictiveness, and vengefulness. Singer pointed out that Trump’s offensive remarks regarding the Holocaust, along with his simultaneous attacks on law enforcement, endorsement of political violence, and threats to our democracy, are utterly disgraceful and disrespectful.
More than 400 donors were anticipated to attend the event, which showcased a number of Trump’s potential vice-presidential candidates. The purpose of the donor event was also to aid the Trump campaign in strengthening its financial position.
Trump is currently dealing with several legal battles, one of which is the well-known hush money case involving adult film star Stormy Daniels. He has entered a plea of not guilty in response to allegations that he tried to sway the outcome of the 2016 presidential election by reimbursing his lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, for payments made to silence Daniels regarding an alleged affair in 2006. Trump firmly denies that any such affair occurred.
In his speech, Trump also directed his criticism towards the prosecutors who are currently investigating him.
According to an article in The Washington Post, it was reported that Trump referred to Department of Justice (DOJ) special counsel Jack Smith as an “f-ing a-hole” during a recent speech. NBC News also noted that Trump called Smith, who is overseeing the federal cases related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents and his alleged involvement in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot, an “evil thug” and “deranged.”
According to an article from The Washington Post, it was reported that Trump referred to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis as a “real beauty” and “Mrs. Wade,” making fun of her controversial association with former special prosecutor Nathan Wade in relation to Trump’s election interference case in Georgia.
