According to a recent NBC News poll, the level of interest in the upcoming election has reached its lowest point in almost twenty years. Out of all the registered voters surveyed, only 64 percent expressed a high level of interest in the November election.
According to the poll results, there has been a decrease in the number of people who have a high level of interest in the current presidential elections, compared to previous NBC News polls conducted during the 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 elections.
NBC reported that the lowest level of high election interest in a presidential cycle was recorded in March 2012, with only 59 percent of the population actively engaged in the poll.
According to a recent poll conducted with 1,000 registered voters, participants were asked about their preferred choice in a hypothetical scenario where former President Trump runs as the Republican candidate and President Biden represents the Democratic party.
In the latest poll, Trump has a slight edge over Biden, leading by 2 points with 46 percent support compared to Biden’s 44 percent. However, this represents a decrease from Trump’s previous 5-point advantage back in January.
According to the survey, half of the respondents believe that Trump is being treated fairly in his legal challenges, while 43 percent feel that he is being unjustly targeted in these proceedings.
The poll was conducted from April 12-16 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
