A 19-year-old was arrested and charged with murder on Friday in the Citi Bike slaying of a 16-year-old child outside a luxury Soho hotel, according to police sources.
According to sources, police are seeking Henry Thomas, of Avenue D in the East Village, as one of two accused perpetrators following the gunning down of Mahki Brown on Spring Street opposite the Dominick Hotel on May 7.
The US Marshals Service apprehended Thomas in Harlem early Friday.
He said nothing as cops escorted him out of the 1st Precinct in handcuffs on his way to court at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
According to police reports, Thomas opened fire during the attack that killed Brown.
In last week’s audacious, broad-daylight attack, the victim was shot in the head and hit twice in the leg.
Brown, an ardent basketball player from Crown Heights, Brooklyn, was transported to Bellevue Hospital and pronounced dead.
“The USMS RFTF, SDNY Warrant Squad, and the NYPD worked tirelessly to find the shooter in this senseless execution of a 16-year-old,” stated Ralph Sozio, US Marshal for the Southern District of New York.
“We are committed to using all of our collective law enforcement resources against anyone committing these acts of violence in our city and bringing them to justice.”
The dead kid, a student at nearby Broome Street Academy Charter High School, had been acting as a “peacemaker” in a fight between two of his female classmates before the shooting, NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said last week.
One of the girls involved eventually called her brother for assistance, Kenny added.
Two individuals then arrived on the Citi Bike, with one of them opening fire on a group of about 30 children.
“He stepped in to break up the fight,” the chief stated about the victim.

Brown, who was regarded by loved ones as compassionate and respectful, was shot while with his girlfriend.
“I was with him,” the distressed girlfriend told The Post after the incident.
“It is hard.” “I keep seeing him on the ground.”
Other witnesses saw an injured Brown collapse following a hit in an alley near the hotel.
“It was sickening,” claimed Justo Cruz, a security guard working nearby.
“He was just lying down, seemingly unconscious. I noticed some blood on the clothing but did not check. Nothing pleasant. There was one human on the floor. That was movie-like.”
