Senator Marco Rubio, a Republican from Florida, made it clear on Sunday that he would not make a commitment to accepting the results of the 2024 presidential election. Rubio emphasized that if he believes the election is unfair, his party would take legal action and highlight instances where states are not adhering to their own election laws.
During his appearance on Meet the Press, Rubio addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding his potential vice-presidential candidacy under former President Donald Trump. It is worth noting that Trump has repeatedly made baseless claims about the alleged theft of the 2020 election.

During the interview, Welker persistently questioned Rubio about his stance on contesting the election results, regardless of the winner.
Rubio responded, “I believe you’re directing your question to the wrong person. It is actually the Democrats who have opposed every Republican victory since 2000, without exception.”
Welker emphasized that Democrats who had concerns about election results still conceded. In response, Rubio repeatedly inquired if Welker had posed the same question to Democrats.
He declined to condemn Trump’s remarks about Florida’s six-week abortion ban, in which Trump referred to the law as a “terrible thing, a terrible mistake.” This is despite Trump taking credit for repealing the federal protection for abortion.
He refrained from revealing whether he would accept the role of Trump’s running mate in the 2024 presidential election. He stated that he hadn’t discussed the possibility with Trump yet, but expressed his perspective, saying, “I believe that if someone is offered the opportunity to serve this country in the second highest office, and if all other aspects of their life align at that moment, it’s an incredible position to serve if they have an interest in serving the country.”
