Matthew Trickett’s family
The death, currently classified as unexplained, is currently under investigation.
Officials have notified his family and are assisting them. We will undertake a post-mortem examination in due time.
In a statement to The Times, the family said, “We’re mourning the loss of a much-loved son, brother, and family man.”
According to the accusations, Yuen, Wai, and Trickett agreed to conduct information gathering, surveillance, and deception between December 20, 2023, and May 2, 2024, in order to materially assist a foreign intelligence service.
They allegedly forced entry into a UK residential property on May 1, 2024, regardless of whether the prohibited activity or the course of conduct it was part of would cause interference.
All of them had received bail and were due to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday.
