Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, who presided over the Georgia election interference case involving former President Trump, has emerged victorious in his bid for re-election, as reported by Decision Desk HQ.
McAfee successfully defended his seat on the Superior Court against a challenge from civil rights attorney Robert Patillo II. Currently, he is presiding over a case initiated by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D) to investigate potential attempts by Trump and his allies to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
McAfee gained widespread recognition when it made a pivotal decision to retain Willis on the Trump case, despite the revelation of her relationship with fellow prosecutor Nathan Wade, who was subsequently removed.
Both Republicans and Democrats, including Governor Brian Kemp (R) and former Governor Roy Barnes (D), endorsed Judge McAfee for his reelection bid, indicating that members of both parties anticipated his victory.
