“I want to make it clear that my decision to run is not a retaliation against Nick Lalota. While Nick and I have different voting records and I have been vocal about my concerns regarding his performance, I do not want to divide the party and inadvertently help the Democrats gain control of the house,” stated Santos. He further added, “I have recently changed my party affiliation from Republican to independent.”
On Tuesday, Santos hinted that his political ambitions are far from over. He also mentioned that his Cameo account, where he sells personalized videos as a digital content creator, is still up and running.
“I have met with leaders and constituents, and I have made the decision to end my pursuit of this race for this year!” he exclaimed in his statement.
“I am prepared and eager to embrace the numerous opportunities that the future holds. I am fully committed to serving my country whenever the need arises,” he expressed. “Engaging in public policy discourse will remain a priority for me, as I intend to contribute my share… I will consistently strive to align myself with the progressive path of history. This is merely a temporary farewell, as I will undoubtedly return,” he affirmed.
