The discovery of skeletal bones near a Volkswagen plant in Tennessee confirms the identity of a missing 20-year-old woman from Georgia.
A Cobb County Police Department press release reported Maury-Ange Faith Martinez missing in Gwinnett County, Georgia, on August 28, 2023. Martinez’s disappearance was not detailed, but it was assumed she went missing in unincorporated Cobb County.
Officials claimed they discovered the skeleton remains on January 5, 2024. Police discovered the remains in a rural region near a Volkswagen assembly facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The plant is approximately 130 miles south of Nashville.
The investigation into Martinez’s disappearance is ongoing. The police are asking anyone with knowledge about her case to come forward.
Martinez’s mother, Anita Darling, told a local TV station that her daughter enjoyed “fashion, color, and photography” as well as “making people feel good.” She stated that she was on her way to pick up her daughter when she disappeared, and that the family is still seeking answers.
“I know that something happened to her,” Darling stated. “Her sisters and I deserve to know,she said. “Step up and say something.”
