According to Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II, Hassan Todd has been convicted of the murder of Elijah Roberts, who was shot and killed on September 22, 2018, on Avon Ave. Another person was also shot during the incident, but fortunately, they survived.
In 2019, Todd was convicted and handed a 65-year prison sentence, but in 2022, his conviction was overturned due to false witness testimony. Consequently, a new trial was deemed necessary.
