Officials have reported that a house fire in Georgia resulted in the tragic loss of six lives and injury to five others during the early hours of Monday.
Richard Hawk, the Coweta County Coroner, confirmed that the individuals who passed away were between the ages of 6 and 70 years old.
According to Coweta County Fire Rescue, the house in Coweta County, located approximately 40 miles southwest of Atlanta, was attended to by firefighters at 5 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that over 50% of the house was already consumed by the flames.
Fire rescue officials have evacuated all 11 individuals who were inside the house.
Officials have confirmed that six individuals lost their lives and five others were hospitalized, with some sustaining severe injuries.
According to officials, a minor injury was also sustained by one of the firefighters.
Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
