The boyfriend of 15-year-old Ahliana Dickey will face accusations of killing her just before her eighth-grade graduation.
Police said Trevor Bady, 21, of Tewksbury, shot Dickey in her Lawrence Street house in Lowell. He will face several accusations, including armed house invasions and murder.
Dickey should have been at her eighth-grade graduation on June 14. Her family searched her house for her after she failed to show up at graduation. They found Dickey on the first-floor bedroom floor, suffering from gunshot wounds.
A man and a woman had engaged in a confrontation on Lawrence Street earlier in the morning of June 14, just after midnight. According to police, the caller reported a woman screaming, “Get off me; get away from me. I no longer want to be with you. The caller then listened for gunshots. Although the police answered the call, they couldn’t find the couple.
Police claimed Bady had a history of violent behavior with Dickey; surveillance footage showed Bady leaving Dickey’s house soon after midnight on June 14. Police also claimed to have found Bady allegedly using an Uber to get from Lawrence Street before and after the crime.
Loved ones have described Dickey as encouraging and upbeat.
“A lovely person. truly excellent individual. She always lifts me up when I’m feeling low. Her friend Skyla Guthrie of Lowell remarked, “She wanted to do brilliant things in life.”
