An actor attempted to kill his estranged girlfriend by stabbing her many times in her Los Angeles home, according to prosecutors.
Nick Pasqual allegedly broke into the victim’s home on May 23 at 4:30 a.m. and attacked her with a knife, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities report that the victim recently filed a restraining order against Pasqual, leading to her hospitalization with critical injuries.
Pasqual, who has starred in guest roles on TV shows such as “How I Met Your Mother” and “Archive 81,” allegedly fled the scene before being captured at a US-Mexico border checkpoint in Texas, prosecutors said.
Pasqual, 34, is charged with attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and causing injury to a spouse, cohabitant, fiancรฉ, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child’s parent, according to prosecutors. Prosecutors have not set a date for the arraignment.
In a statement, LA County District Attorney George Gascรณn said, “My thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the victim in this horrific incident.” “Our office, including our Bureau of Victim Services, extends our support and resources to her as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from both the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon her.”
“This heinous incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence,” said Gascรณn. “We will hold the individual responsible for this egregious act accountable.”
Prosecutors said Pasqual may face life in prison if found guilty.
