Adele had some choice words for an audience member at her Las Vegas residency who made an anti-LGBTQ+ statement.
The artist recorded herself reprimanding a heckler who reportedly yelled “Pride sucks,” a reference to LGBTQ+ Pride Month in June, during the “Weekends with Adele” performance on June 1. The video quickly went viral across multiple social media accounts.
Adele, seated at the piano, addressed the fan through her microphone. “Did you come to my f****** show and simply say Pride sucks? Are you f****** stupid? Stop being so f****** ridiculous. “If you don’t have anything nice to say, shut up,” she says in the video.
Recognized for his support of the LGBTQ+ community, the artist, who has resided in Las Vegas since 2022, wore a rainbow outfit at a concert during Pride Month in 2023.
She has previously been outspoken during her shows. In August 2023, recordings emerged online showing Adele interrupting her performance to request a security guard stop pestering a fan.
“Why do you annoy him?” she shouted into the microphone. “Please leave him alone.” “I apologize, guys. Security and those seated behind him have been disturbing him throughout the show. He is here to have fun. “All of you are here to have fun.”
She frequently interacts with the audience throughout her performances, and in 2023 she even assisted a pregnant couple with their gender reveal, choking up as she announced that they were having a baby boy.
Her residency will end in November 2024, and she will take a brief hiatus from her Vegas appearances to perform in Munich in August.
