Akron, Ohio officials are reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for a shooting incident during a lively street party. The unfortunate incident resulted in the death of one man and left 24 others injured in the early hours of Sunday.
During a Sunday evening news conference, Akron Police Chief Brian Harding revealed that officers had to intervene and disperse a birthday celebration that had grown to around 200 people. The party had spilled onto the street and had caused numerous complaints around 10 p.m. on Saturday. However, the festivities resumed shortly after being shut down, and around midnight, the police station received reports of gunshots occurring at the same location on Kelly Avenue in southeast Akron.

The violence that occurred resembled a drive-by shooting, with partygoers retaliating by firing back, according to Harding. Currently, investigators are unsure about the number of shooters or weapons involved in the incident, but they have managed to retrieve two handguns and suspect that a rifle might have been used as well.
According to Harding, the area was filled with discarded pistol-caliber shell casings.
The identity of the individual who was killed has not been disclosed, but according to authorities, he was a 27-year-old man. Additionally, two other individuals are currently in critical condition, while the age range of the injured victims spans from 19 to 43, with most of them being in their 30s.
According to authorities, the police received numerous emergency calls regarding the shooting incident. Additionally, it was reported that several victims sought medical attention at hospitals using private vehicles. It is worth noting that law enforcement has been called to respond to several shooting incidents in the vicinity in recent months.
Police are urging witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the incident, as there are currently no suspects in custody. According to Harding, approximately 100 individuals were present and may have witnessed what took place.
“We urge the community to come forward with any information they may have about this tragic incident,” Harding stated. “We are concerned about the potential for retaliation and are taking measures to prevent it. We rely on the support of the community.”
During the press conference, Mayor Shammas Malik expressed his determination to bring those responsible for the shooting to justice. He also expressed his concern about the disturbing trend of resorting to violence as a way to settle conflicts.
Malik expressed deep concern about the alarming level of violence in our community and in communities all over the country. He emphasized the availability of weapons and the disturbing nonchalance with which some individuals wield them. What used to be a simple fistfight now often escalates into a tragic shooting incident. Malik stressed the importance of holding those responsible for violence accountable for their actions.

Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, police launched an investigation into a shooting at Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar, which resulted in the tragic deaths of two individuals and left seven others injured. The incident took place in the Penn Hills area, located east of Pittsburgh, and occurred around 3 a.m. Following the shooting, several victims managed to make their way to nearby hospitals, with one person currently in critical condition.
According to a statement from the Allegheny County police, initial reports suggest that there was a confrontation inside the bar, resulting in multiple individuals firing their weapons.
