A video shows police officers pulling down a Palestinian flag and replacing it with an American flag after clearing up a protest encampment at the City College of New York. Kaz Daughtry, the NYPD’s deputy commissioner for operations, posted the video to X early Wednesday. “An incredible scene and proud moment as we have assisted @CityCollegeNY in restoring order on campus, culminating in raising Old Glory once again on their campus flagpole,” Daughtry captioned the video. The clip appears to show officers taking down the Palestinian flag and throwing it on the ground. According to the Daily News, the video then turns to Daughtry and Tarik Sheppard, the NYPD’s deputy commissioner for public information, as well as two others laboring to raise the American flag. On Wednesday morning, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that police crackdowns on protesters at City College and Columbia University overnight resulted in the arrest of over 300 people.
