Former President Trump expressed his sympathy for his wife, Melania, stating that his recent criminal hush money trial in New York City and subsequent conviction have taken a toll on her. The trial involved testimonies that recounted his alleged infidelity, making it a challenging and difficult period for Melania.
Former President Donald Trump made history on Thursday when he was convicted of 34 felony counts for falsifying business documents. This marks the first time in history that a former president has been convicted of a crime. Trump has since appealed the ruling.
Donald Trump faced charges related to hush money payments made just before the 2016 election. These payments were intended to conceal alleged past affairs between Trump and an adult film star, although he has consistently denied these claims.
In 2006, Donald Trump allegedly had an affair with Stormy Daniels, an adult film actress. This incident took place only a year after his marriage to Melania and just a few months after the birth of their son, Barron.
In a recent interview with “Fox and Friends,” Trump expressed concern for the former first lady, stating that she is doing fine but acknowledging that it has been challenging for her. He further noted that his family, including Melania, has been facing a tougher time than himself in many ways.
“I am fortunate to have an incredible wife who has to endure hearing all of this nonsense constantly. They engage in these tactics for a specific purpose. They throw around all these scandalous names about people, and I am not even permitted to defend myself due to the imposed gag order. Just imagine that,” expressed Trump, without explicitly mentioning the identity of “they.”
“These individuals deliberately introduce disruptive elements. They are not to be trusted,” he emphasized. “I am fully aware of their actions. I closely monitor their every move; I understand their motives.”
In a later interview, Trump expressed his acceptance of the possibility of going to prison. While it is unlikely that he will face the maximum sentence of four years, he is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11.
