On Sunday, former President Trump attended the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix at Hard Rock Stadium.
Photos from the event show the GOP presidential contender wandering around the paddock, visiting the McLaren team garage, and waving to onlookers.
Steve Witkoff, a Trump supporter, reportedly wanted to hold a fundraiser in one of the event’s suites, but race organizer and Miami Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel halted his plans.
“Political campaigning has its place, but not in our race. We cordially invite you and your guests to attend our event and enjoy your suite. However, we respectfully ask that you adhere to our explicit license agreement, as previously disclosed by radio personality Andy Slater.
Over the weekend, Trump arrived in Florida for the Republican National Committee’s spring meeting, widely perceived as an audition for potential running mates in 2024. Many of the rumored finalists were on the guest list, including South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R), North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R), Ohio Sen. JD Vance (R), House GOP conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.).
