In Frayser on Monday, a man was reportedly asked to cease firing his gun but instead, fired several rounds at a woman and her six children.
A 21-year-old man named Daimon Fleming faces several charges including Evading Arrest, Tampering with Evidence, Assault on a First Responder, Vandalism $1,000-$2,500, and seven counts of Aggravated Assault.
The judge set his bail at $25,000.
Officers were dispatched to an incident at the 1400 block of Briercrest Lane on July 1.
According to the victim, she witnessed an argument between her neighbor and a man named “Honcho,” who she later identified as Fleming. During the altercation, Fleming allegedly fired shots at his girlfriend.
According to reports, Fleming was confronted by the victim who informed him that she and her six children were inside their apartment. It was at this point that he proceeded to threaten her with a gun.
As the victim and her six children attempted to escape to a safer location, one of the kids suddenly cried out, “Mom, he’s got a gun!” In a terrifying turn of events, Fleming proceeded to pursue their vehicle and fired multiple rounds at them.
Fleming fled when the Memphis Police attempted to apprehend him. During the search, law enforcement officials discovered a black firearm in the vicinity.
After being taken into custody, Fleming proceeded to spit on two officers, with one receiving the repulsive act on their face and the other on their arm. Additionally, he is facing charges for vandalizing a patrol car’s fender, resulting in $1,200 worth of damage.
Daimon Fleming has a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday morning.
