According to Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.), Hunter Biden’s conviction in the federal gun charges case could potentially pave the way for Michelle Obama to run for the presidency. Ogles believes that this development could create an opportunity for the former first lady to enter the race for the White House.
During an appearance on Fox Businessโs โMornings with Mariaโ on Wednesday, Ogles shared his thoughts on the verdict and stressed the importance of seeking justice. He then went on to suggest that President Biden may choose to step back from the race following his sonโs guilty verdict.
According to his statement, there might be an opportunity for Democrats such as Michelle Obama. He believes that with the Biden family taking care of their own affairs, Michelle Obama could potentially step in and take charge.
Ogles stated that the reason for their desperation for another candidate is that Joe Biden is deemed incapable of winning the election.
In a clear statement, the ex-first lady has stated that she has no intentions of running for president and returning to the White House. Earlier this year, her office confirmed that she “will not be running for president” and expressed her support for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ re-election campaign.
Several Republicans, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), have suggested that Obama might replace Biden on the ballot for the upcoming November election. However, Obama has consistently dismissed such speculations and denied any interest in running for president. In 2019, she stated that there was “zero chance” of her making a bid for the presidency.
Earlier this year, she expressed her fear about the potential outcome of the 2024 election, stating that she was “terrified.”
Hunter Biden, the son of the President, was found guilty on three felony gun charges after a trial lasting about a week. In response to the verdict, President Biden released a statement stating that he will accept the outcome of the case.
During his appearance on Fox Business on Wednesday, Ogles reiterated the statement made by former President Trump’s campaign regarding Hunter Biden’s conviction. The campaign spokesperson had referred to the conviction as a mere distraction from the serious corruption allegations against the Biden family.
According to Ogles, the verdict of guilt was definitely a distraction.
He stated, “While it is important to seek justice, we cannot ignore the fact that the Biden family has received tens of millions of dollars from foreign nations, which is a serious offense and deserves to be the primary focus of discussion and legal action.”
Republicans and Trump supporters have accused President Biden of benefiting from his son’s business deals, but these claims remain unsubstantiated. Furthermore, an impeachment inquiry related to this matter has been at a standstill in recent months.
