In a recent filing on Tuesday, the Chief Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals announced the suspension of Hunter Biden from practicing law in Washington, D.C.
Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby has announced that President Biden’s son has been immediately suspended following his conviction on federal gun charges by a federal jury in Delaware. Federal law strictly forbids the purchase or possession of firearms by someone who has improperly used controlled substances. The younger Biden was found guilty of three felony counts for purchasing a gun in 2018 while struggling with a crack cocaine addiction.
According to the court ruling, Biden’s ability to practice law in the district has been suspended due to the severity of the crimes committed.
The order stated that the individual in question is prohibited from practicing law in the District of Columbia until the matter is resolved. The case has been referred to the D.C. Bar’s Board on Professional Responsibility for further investigation.
Despite being a Yale Law School alumnus, Biden hasn’t utilized his legal expertise much lately. However, he has been authorized to practice law in D.C. since 2007.
