The Biden campaign has enlisted the support of former President Obama, George Clooney, and Julia Roberts for a star-studded major fundraiser in Los Angeles next month, as confirmed by a campaign official.
As part of the fundraiser, Clooney and Roberts will take part in a contest that will be conducted through various platforms such as social media, digital ads, emails, and texts.
According to a campaign official from the Biden team, the objective of the contest is to actively involve the grassroots donors of the campaign and garner support from the entire network of supporters.
According to NBC News, the latest news reveals that Biden’s fundraising effort has been surpassing that of former President Trump’s campaign.
In March , the Biden campaign reported that it had raised $90 million, bringing their total for the first quarter to $187 million, with $192 million in cash available. On the other hand, the Trump campaign revealed that it had raised approximately $66 million in March. Following Trump’s nomination as the Republican candidate, the campaign merged with the Republican National Committee, and by the end of March, they had $93.1 million in cash reserves.
Last week, Biden embarked on a fundraising journey to San Francisco and Seattle. This West Coast swing proved to be incredibly successful, raising an impressive $10 million, as confirmed by a reliable source.
The trip was announced alongside a $14 million May ad buy that aims to reach out to Black, Latino, and Asian Americans. By the end of May, the campaign aims to have over 500 staff members and 200 offices open.
