A Canandaigua, New York, man who was convicted just last month of raping a high school senior held captive for days is now suspected of plotting murder-for-hire against a judge, prosecutor, and witness who sentenced him to prison.
Alexander Kise faced the possibility of a lengthy prison sentence after being found guilty in mid-March for sexually assaulting and unlawfully imprisoning an 18-year-old high school student whom he had met online and invited to stay with him for the weekend in June 2022. However, before his sentencing, Kise allegedly conspired with his girlfriend, Alydia Gater, to use Xanax pills as a form of payment to hire an assassin. Unbeknownst to them, the supposed assassin was an undercover police officer. Consequently, Gater was also arrested in connection with the plot.
However, authorities in the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office claimed that the plot’s intended victims included one of their own prosecutors and a witness in the rape case.
“Alexander Kise’s girlfriend and others took extremely positive actions on his behalf. “There is a juvenile charged in this case with attempting to kill a judge, as well as plans to kill an assistant district attorney and a witness in his original trial,” Assistant District Attorney Kelly Wolford announced Thursday, revealing that a 16-year-old was also arrested.
Prosecutors accused Kise and his girlfriend of making the obvious mistake of discussing their scheme in jailhouse calls, including facts like where the targets resided. Wolford alleged that the conspiracy advanced when a New York State Police officer received medications as a down payment for a hit on the judge.
During the rape trial, prosecutors claimed that Kise sexually abused and strangled the victim during a two-day period beginning on June 5, 2022, thus unjustly imprisoning her. Next, he convinced his grandma to accompany the victim to the hospital, claiming that the victim’s injuries were the result of a mugging, according to local ABC station WHAM.
According to the report, Kise threateningly displayed a knife before his grandmother and the 18-year-old entered the hospital, asking the victim not to tell anyone else about what had happened or he would harm her and her family. The victim reportedly used an Uber to get away from Kise the day following his hospital visit.
