William O’Donnell, a resident from Babylon on Long Island, recently became a lucky winner of the NY Lottery’s Cash X100 scratch-off game. The prize he claimed was an impressive $5 million, according to lottery officials.
After paying taxes, O’Donnell received a single lump sum payment of $3,255,000.
The ticket that brought him immense luck was purchased in Lindenhurst, specifically at the Maakrupa Super Stop on 200A Montauk Highway.
According to the New York Lottery, scratch-off games generated over $4.4 billion in sales in the fiscal year 2022-2023. Out of this revenue, school districts in Suffolk County received a substantial amount of over $359.4 million in Lottery Aid to Education funds.
