Senator John Fetterman and his wife, Giselle, were hospitalized following their involvement in a car accident in Maryland.
According to the Maryland State Police, Fetterman, who is a Democrat, was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Traverse that collided with the back of a Chevrolet Impala on I-70 last Sunday.
As per the latest update from his office, Fetterman had sustained a bruised shoulder during the incident, and he along with his wife were discharged on Sunday afternoon.
There is a lack of information regarding any injuries sustained by Giselle Barreto Fetterman.
According to officials, the passenger in Fetterman’s vehicle and the driver of the Impala were transported by ambulance to War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia for medical assessment.
According to a spokesperson from Fetterman’s office who spoke to The Independent, John and Gisele were in a car accident with another driver on Sunday morning. They went to a local hospital to be evaluated as a precautionary measure. John received treatment for a bruised shoulder, and they were released later that day. Fortunately, they are both doing well and are now back in Braddock.
The accident occurred at 8am on I-70 while both vehicles were heading west.
According to the authorities, the investigation is still ongoing, and as of now, no citations have been given regarding the crash.
