A sweeping manhunt in New York City concluded on Tuesday when 23-year-old Angela Sauretti recognized a man in a black hoodie who entered the 108th Street Grocery in Queens at 1 a.m.

Sauretti was almost confident this was the face she had seen on Instagramโ€”an NYPD wanted poster for a man suspected of machete-point raping a 13-year-old girl while she was walking with a kid her age last week.

Sauretti yelled out to a nearby buddy who had seen the police Instagram post. She inquired whether this was the man more than 60 cops had been looking for since Thursday’s broad daylight attack in a park across from the victim’s junior high school.

“I pointed him out,” Sauretti told The Daily Beast. “I’m like, ‘Yo, that’s him?’ [The friend] responded, ‘Yes, that’s him. That is what confirmed it.” And everything just spiraled from there.”

Sauretti grabbed the hoodie-wearing man.

“He tried to run, so I put him in a headlock,” she told The Daily Beast.

He continued to struggle, and she used the chance to administer her own brand of street justice.

“He got something that his mother should have done to him,” she informed me. “I’ll put it that way.”

She continued, “As a woman, I had to really set the tone and remind him, ‘It wasn’t a man who did this to you.'”” It was a woman.

He continued to resist, allowing her to reinforce a certain lesson.

“You mistreated a woman, and she retaliated by doing the same to you,” she said. “So it made him think, ‘Maybe I won’t mess with the next woman.'” Because you never know. There are good ones, as well as those who will go all out to defend themselves.

The man protested.

“He replied, ‘Let me explain!'” I said, ‘There’s nothing to explain. “You are a rapist,” she recalled. “He responded, ‘I don’t care.’ I was like, ‘What do you mean you don’t care? You are a rapist. He answered, ‘I don’t care.

Another woman, 67-year-old Isabel Caizado, kicked him before removing one of her shoes and hitting him with it. Daniel Ramos joined in, having overheard the guy in the black hoodie mention an hour earlier that he planned to take an aircraft for Ecuador in the morning.

As the man struggled to escape, he removed his black hoodie and T-shirt beneath it. Sauretti reported seeing a tattoo of a boar or a bull with red eyes on his left upper chest, exactly as described by the NYPD in their posting.

“That’s what pushed us even harder,” Sauretti explained.

The man managed to crawl beneath a car.

“Like a cat,” Sauretti replied.

Sauretti and the others encircled the automobile, preventing him from escaping. She believes that the man was fortunate that the cops came to the scene when they did.

The officers captured a guy later identified as 25-year-old Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, an unauthorized immigrant from Ecuador who had crossed the southern border near Eagle Pass, Texas, in 2021. He was still bare-chested as he walked from the 112 Precinct station house later that morning, the tattoo visible to all.

Sauretti met with detectives and returned outside the supermarket in the afternoon.

“They said we made a citizen’s arrest,” she explained.

She told The Daily Beast that the $10,000 prize for information leading to the arrest of the accused rapist had not influenced her choice to act.

“I would have done it even without a reward, because I feel like that’s the right thing in the end,” she said.

She stated that her mother works as a school crossing guard, and she intends to pursue a career in radiology. She mentioned having a strong sense of self that guides her.

“I’ve got structure. I have boundaries. I understand where I stand, what I like and dislike, what I want to do and what I don’t want to do. Nobody can exert peer pressure on me. “No one can tell me what to do.”

She stated that she did not come to this inner resolve organically.

“I had to go through a lot,” she explained.

The massive manhunt was over, and the only regret she had was that the glass on her wristwatch had broken when she put the alleged rapist in a headlock.

“I’m upset, but it’s just a material thing,” the hero explained.
