Groups like Young Invincibles and Civic Nation are organizing clinics in Houston and other cities to assist borrowers in enrolling in the SAVE Plan and other programs that can lower their payments. This assistance is particularly crucial for young minorities as they recover from the economic impacts of the pandemic.

Despite the potential benefits, some states led by Republican administrations have rejected the SAVE plan. Nonetheless, clinics such as the one at The Montrose Center are stepping in to provide expert support for borrowers. This Saturday, the clinic will offer training sessions and one-on-one assistance with student loans, led by Federal Student Aid experts, to help borrowers understand and enroll in repayment plans.
