People flock to this destination to revel in the enchantment of Nicole Kidman.
On Saturday, the American Film Institute presented actress Nicole Kidman with a prestigious Life Achievement Award during a glamorous gala in Hollywood. The star of the award-winning series “Big Little Lies,” who is 56 years old, graced the red carpet alongside her husband, Keith Urban. The couple happily posed for photographs alongside their lovely daughters, Sunday Rose (15) and Faith Margaret (13).
Kidman’s sister Antonia Kidman and niece Sybella Hawley also graced the red carpet alongside her. The event saw the presence of notable celebrities such as Naomi Watts, Reese Witherspoon, Michelle Pfeiffer, Cynthia Erivo, and Morgan Freeman.
Nicole Kidman donned a stunning gold gown and gracefully acknowledged the crowd’s applause as she stepped onto the stage. During his heartfelt speech, Keith Urban spoke of his admiration for his wife’s unwavering strength and vulnerability. In a video shared by Variety, Urban lovingly described Kidman as someone who possesses an unparalleled capacity for love. He then expressed his deep affection, proclaiming that he has been madly in love with her for close to two decades.
In a hilarious spoof video, Freeman, the renowned actor from “Shawshank Redemption,” couldn’t resist poking fun at Kidman’s iconic AMC ads. He expressed his admiration for the actress, acknowledging her ability to bring a sense of joy even in the midst of heartbreak. “Somehow, she manages to make heartbreak feel uplifting in a setting like this,” he playfully remarked. The Hollywood Reporter shared a clip of this entertaining parody.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban tied the knot in 2006 and have been happily married ever since. Before her marriage to Urban, Kidman was previously married to Tom Cruise, and the former couple shares two children together.
Jimmy Fallon was ‘totally blindsided’ when Nicole Kidman told him they once dated
The Kidman homage event comes after “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon said that the actress surprised him on his show by revealing that they once went on a date, unbeknownst to him.
Fallon told Deadline that he felt ashamed after an infamous 2015 interview in which Kidman claimed she had a crush on him. Years ago, the two met at the comedian’s flat, which he thought was only to see if he was a good fit for a film role. But on “The Tonight Show” years later, she informed Fallon that “I liked you,” leaving Fallon astonished and asking, “Did I date Nicole Kidman?” A YouTube video of the interview, captioned “Jimmy Fallon blew a chance to date Nicole Kidman,” has over 60 million views.
Fallon told Deadline that Kidman “totally blindsided him” with this revelation. “My face just melted,” he explained. “It was the most embarrassing thing.”
But, according to Fallon, this has become a running joke between him and Urban. He recalls casually approaching Urban at the Met Gala and telling the musician, “I believe we dated once.” Fallon reportedly described an incident in which Urban pushed him to approach Kidman at an event and grasp her hand so she would believe he was her husband.
“I sat next to Nicole and I grabbed her hand and she held it like it was Keith’s, probably,” he said. “She was kind of rubbing it and she was having this conversation, and then he went across the table to the person she was talking to, and he’s like, ‘Hi, Nic.’ And she’s like, ‘What? Jimmy, what are you doing?’ It was his idea!”
